out of the box – Reset Android – Part 5

It’s quite easy to reset Android on a Pantech Discover device, following the steps we will reveal in this tutorial.

We will show you two ways to reset Android on, both very simple to return the Pantech Discover to its factory settings.

If your device is slow or maybe you want to give it someone else to use, without giving them all your personal data, you will use the method to reset android which involves using the application menu.

If, however, you don’t have access to the application menu, for example if you forgot the lock pattern, you will use the method using hard ware buttons.

Before applying any of the two methods, make sure the battery of your Pantech Discover is charged at at least 80% to avoid any unwanted shut-downs.

Reset android on Pantech Discover using the Application Menu

To reset Android using this method, you need to be able to access the application menu of your Pantech Discover. Follow these easy steps and you’ll have your device at its out of the box state in no time.

  • Go to the Application Menu, and then Settings.
  • Select Backup and Reset
  • Tap on Factory Data Reset.
  • Tap on Erase Everything.

The device will start the process and when it restarts, it will be as out of the box.

Reset Android on Pantech Discover using hardware

If you have forgotten your lock pattern, or your Pantech Discover is unresponsive for some reason, you will have to use this method to reset Android. Follow these easy steps and your device will return to its factory settings.

  • Turn off your phone. To make sure the Pantech Discover is completely turned off, remove the battery, wait for 8-10 seconds and then re-insert the battery.
  • Press the Volume Down and Power button at the same time, until the Android logo shows on the screen. When the logo shows, let go of both buttons, and then press them again at the same time.
  • A Menu for Recovery Mode will show on the screen. Using the Volume buttons to move, and the power button to select, choose Factory reset.
  • The Pantech Discover will start the process, returning to its out of the box state when it restarts.

You should now have your Pantech Discover restarted and as good as new, having done a reset Android on your device.

If you have reached this tutorial, it probably means that you need to reset android on a Sony Xperia M device, to return it to it’s out of the box state, and with this get rid of errors or lock patterns, that prevent a good use of the device.

We will teach you two very easy ways to reset Android on Sony Xperia M. 

If you have total access to the Applications Menu, then it will be easier to use the first method which involves a soft reset of android.

If you don’t have access to your phone, maybe because you forgot the lock pattern, you will need to use the second method, which involves doing a hard reset of Android on the Sony Xperia M.   1. Go to the Applications Menu of your Sony Xperia M device.
  2. Go to Settings -> Backup and Reset
  3. Tap on Factory data reset -> reset phone
  4. If you wish to delete all the information on your phone click on Erase all data. IF you’re going to do this, make a backup of your data just in case.

The process will start automatically, and once your Sony Xperia M restarts, it’ll have gone back to its factory settings.

Reset Android on Sony Xperia M, using a combination of buttons

If you have lost access to your Sony Xperia M, this is the method you will use to reset android, and return it to factory settings.

  1. Make sure your Sony Xperia M is turned off. You can do this by removing the battery, wait a few seconds, and then reinsert the battery.
  2. Press both the volume up and the power button at the same time, for about 10 seconds.
  3. A screen will appear with a menu, select the Factory Reset option, using the volume buttons to navigate through the options and the power button to select.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen and once you’re done, the Sony Xperia M will reset itself and return restored to it’s out of the box state.

If you have followed the instructions for any of the two methods correctly, you should now have reset android on the Sony Xperia M, thus returning it to it’s factory settings.

If you have a LG Optimus L4 II device and want to reset android, this tutorial will give you two excellent ways to do this.

There are many reasons to wanting to reset Android on LG Optimus L4 II. Maybe it is giving some errors, or lagging. maybe you lost the lock pattern. Or maybe you just want to give or sell your LG Optimus L4 II for someone else to use, and don’t want all your personal data to go with the mobile.

Both methods will achieve the same result, but depending on the state of your device, you will use one or the other.

One of these methods is more simple than the other, and you can use it if you still have access to the applications menu of your device. The other will use hardware buttons, making it unnecessary for you to need to have access to your phone, for example if you forgot the lock pattern.

Before starting any of the two methods presented in this tutorial, make sure your battery is charged at least to 80% of it’s capacity, and backup your data, whenever possible.

Reset Android on LG Optimus L4 II using the applications menu

To reset android on your LT Optimus L4 II device you need to follow these steps:

  • Go to the applications Menu
  • Enter Settings
  • Enter Privacy
  • Tap on Factory data reset
  • tap on Reset Phone
  • Tap on Erase everything.

The LG Optimus L4 II will start the process of returning android to it’s out of the box state.

Use hardware buttons to reset Android on LG Optimus L4 II

If you do not have access to the applications menu of your device, you will have to use this method to hard reset Android. To do this follow these steps:

Turn your LG Optimus L4 II  completely off. To do this turn off the phone, and then remove the battery, wait for 20 seconds and then reinsert it

Press the Volume Down button, and while keeping it pressed, press the Power button.

When you see the Android icon on your screen, let go of both buttons.

The phone will start it’s process of returning to it’s out of the box state, and then restart showing the welcome screen.

And we’re done! By now your LG Optimus L4 II should be as good as new and your reset Android was a success!
